Hardships Resources
Life frequently introduces challenges and obstacles that can not be easily merged with our expectation of what a loving God looks like and acts like. These resources provide a starting place for conversations and understanding hardships as a way to redeem the narrative for our good and God’s glory.

This book explores themes of human vulnerability, suffering, and God's seeming absence in times when we need him most. This book resonated with me because the night time seems to be when things are darkest, most lonely and anxious. This book gave me concrete practice of prayer not to mention a deeper understanding of my pain in the night and God's response.

This book incorporates research findings to equip families for flourishing despite the stress and expectations of our culture. This book is not written from a strictly Christian perspective (it does have a nice chapter discussing how to instill values that motivate children to serve others and build spiritual habits) but it certainly can be incorporated into Christian practices and worldview.

Hardships

A small book of poems centered around grief (diagnosis and death originated). This is an excellent resource to be read by an individually, family or small group. Journaling and prayer could be easy next steps after the poems are read.
